A Sweet Summer Day

Both boys are officially at Vacation Bible School today and will be going for the rest of the week.  It's Gage's first year there, and he and Brayden were both extremely excited to be going.  Today I got to run errands child-free, and they took maybe half of the time that they usually do.  It was strange, not having a  kid or two in tow.

Over the weekend we piled up in the Jeep for a summer adventure out to Shawnee State Park for an afternoon of swimming in the lake.  We had a blast and beat the humidity by staying cool in the water.

And then it rained with a few flashes of lightning thrown in and the Park Ranger evacuated the lake.  Our day was over, and the boys were sour because we had to leave.  By the time we walked the 10 minute hike back up to where we parked the sun was shining again and the rain was long gone.  We got to see a beautiful rainbow over the lake on our trek home.

Just another Summer day.

BEYOOTIFUL shots! I don't think you could ask for a more beautiful rainbow. The boys sure look like they enjoyed their dip. They're braver than me though. I can't do lake water. For me it's the ocean, a pool, or nuttin :)
