Celebrating with the Soul

Easter weekend was a busy one, but for all of the right reasons.

I don't decorate for Easter, not really anyways. This year I did pick up a bunch of fancy looking sparkly eggs from Michael's that were on sale 40% off from their normal price of $1.00. They are hanging from the overhead lights in the dining room.

I think that, personally, Easter for my family means something completely different than what a lot of people have made it out to be and that is a big chunk why I just can't see any reason to fill me house with cutsie little bunnies and chicks. And heck, even if I did, my boys wouldn't exactly dig it.
Now don't get me wrong here, the Easter bunny comes to visit every year leaving a basket of treats a few small toys and we have a egg hunt (which luckily for us Pennsylvania folks we got to do outside this year!! Last year, this time, we were still in winter jackets.). But we also go to church and we celebrate all that Easter has brought to us.

My faith is complex and I'm still learning and I'm often praying for opportunities to build strength. And despite my short comings, I know that I am loved. All because of Easter.

We celebrate with praise and love.

Celebrating a day with faith and love is a beautiful thing. My beliefs are also...complex and I have to admit, we're more about the plastic eggs, Easter bunny and fun toys, but it's hard to forget the faith part too. I just hope you had a wonderful celebration!
