At Age 16:

Got my first ever job which meant my first ever steady income of money. I bought the shirt that I was wearing in this picture from the clearance rack at the Gap. I remember thinking that I was so cool because I could finally afford to shop there, even if it was only a $7.00 tank top. I wore it at least once a week.

Blue eye shadow was awesome.

My very first venture into the art of hair dye. I got a box of bright red dye and dyed my hair not realizing the obviously red doesn't really show up over top of super dark brown. The result was the auburn bob you see. As cute as I can see that it was now, it wasn't at all what I wanted. A week later I bleached out the front two sections of my hair and made them fire engine red.

Wire necklaces that you could just snap around your neck were great. At least they were up until they slid off to the side ten seconds later making you look like you don't own a mirror.

You're right, blue eyeshadow IS awesome.

You and I were basically the same person in high school. Whenever I see flashbacks from that time period, I fall head over heels in love with you, haha. Because its very much like looking into a mirror.

What a great pic! You look so freakin adorable. I would have died to have fire engine red hair. Back in the OLDEN days, we didn't have the really vivid colors we do now. Not unless you had a lot of cash to have it professionally done...which I didn't. The Loreal Zazu hairdye never really did the trick quite right!

I am approaching my mid thirties... and I can honestly say that I've never tried blue eye shadow.

You look the exact same! Well, minus the hair and wire necklace! But, your face is just as pretty and youthful! So cute.

i had a wire necklace that would do the same thing to me! i think i might even still have it somewhere!

and i totally thought i was cool buying clothes at The Gap... and ONLY from the clearance rack--it was all i could afford!

I quite like the hair color! I was more into perms than hair color at 16!

cute hair color--i can only assume the bleaching it out and dying it again was a pretty fun experience. i'm about ready to go back to my natural dark blonde pretty soon here....
