(image via permissonandpink)I'm very blessed to not only go to a very large and welcoming church, a church which I'm very active in. I've found that being involved in something so positive and amazing has literally trickled down to every single area of my life, and it's very awesome thing to get to see up close and personal.
Yesterday after our church service was over and after Mike and I had collected our kids from their Promiseland Sunday School classes we all made our way over towards our Worship Directors office because I had to ask him about choir.
After a small, less than five minute conversation in the busy hall of our church my little family and I made our way out the door to the Jeep to go home. Along the way Brayden stopped to tug on my arm and whispered in hushed awe "Mom! You know him?!"
"Well yeah buddy. I sing in the choir, remember."
"... Wow." (with reverence)
(Ten minutes later) "I can't believe you know him mom. That's so cool."
Some kids idolize Superman or Batman. My kid idolizes my church's worship director. And I happen to think that that is pretty darn cool.

I think it's cool that he looks up to someone really worth admiring. So many kids look up to people a lot less worthy.
