A Big Girl Camera

My old trusty point and shoot camera bit the dust in November. Conveniently enough it breathed it's last breath right during the first 10 minutes on Brayden's 8th birthday party. But that's usually how things work, isn't it, always during the most inopportune time.

I had that little Kodak for 3 years, 2 1/2 of which were on borrowed time. I beat the snot out of that camera I did it mostly because I am that mom. The one who always has her camera at the ready to capture whatever cute thing my kids are doing at that point in time.

Without a camera the past few months (aside from my awful quality cell phone cam) has left my poor hands twitching. But now that Christmas is behind us, I was finally able to get my new toy. (Because I just couldn't buy a fancy new camera when I was busy buying for everyone else. This mom is on a budget.)

Meet my Cannon Rebel T2i. We're in love. I'm pretty sure Mike is jealous because I'm having an affair with my new camera. But the relationship is still new so the novelty hasn't worn off yet. Although I'm not sure it ever really will. Mike will have to adapt.

I've wanted a dslr camera forever. Now that it's here I'm going to have to find some other thing to aspire to own for the next five years, but I'm too in love with my current large purchase to focus on my next one. I won't be opening any photography businesses any time soon though.(because the book that came with this baby is HUGE and it's going to take me forever to learn how to shoot this baby outside of on auto)

Man oh man are my scrapbooks going to look cool from here on out!

Excuse me, I have to go dress my kids in something cute and take some more pictures now.

We seemed to be karmically linked lately! Mine arrived in the mail on Thursday and I've been finding every reason in the world to use it ever since. I love the fact that I now have something fast enough to capture Mr Speedy Gonzalez Merrick :) I'm sure you feel the same way about your boys. I KNOW that manual is like a mini-Bible...both in English and in Spanish! We should compare notes. If you figure new, cool things out, you can share with me and vice verse.

Ahh, lucky you!! Since mom would rather me deal with people and not the internet for buying my camera (urgh) I haven't gotten mine yet....

Beautiful pictures!

Awesome do you do digital scrap booking or do you actually print out the photos etc? New Camera's are always fun to play around with. I still haven't read all of the manual for ours...but I'm the kind of person that tends to learn better by doing/experimenting rather then reading. Have fun!!! :)

I so want a DSLR, but I would probably be too intimidated to even touch it, lol. Can't wait to see lots of pics from your new camera!
