Growing up Birthday parties were always a pretty simple affair. We celebrated as a family with our parents, siblings, grandparents and maybe a few family friends. It was nothing like the giant themed parties that you see all over the place today. It was small and intimate gathering where we not only celebrated each others births but also their inclusion into our family.
This is a tradaition that we carry on today.
Brayden's party was a simple but special one. His actual birtday fell on Thanksgiving day this year, so we celebrated then with a candle in the pumpkin pie. The day before Brayden also took a giant batch of homemade snickerdoodle cookies into school to celebrate with his classmates. Last Saturday, we had his party. And we partied.
There were balloons.
There was a banner.
There was cake. An ice cream cake to be exact.
There were presents.
And most importantly, and most abuntdantly, there was love.
Happy Birthday 8th Brayden!
(PS: Looks like it's strictly cell phone pics from here on out for me until I'm able to get a new camera sometime after the holidays. Sorry in advance for the bad picture quailty!)

sometimes simple is nice and the most special! we do those kinds of birthday get togethers as well (with a few big parties here and there for special milestones). looks like brayden made out pretty well when he opened those cards! :)
Reminds me of my birthdays as a kid. :)
He's a lucky boy! :)
I love ice cream cakes, especially if they have that cookie stuff in the middle! : ) Hope he had a great one! Sorry about the camera..maybe Santa can help you out!
