Every weekday morning we get up and go through the getting dressed, lunch making, hair brushing routine. Promptly at 8:00 Brayden and I set out into the crisp morning air and make our way out to the end of the driveway to wait for the school bus, Brayden with his book bag packed and perched onto his back and me nursing a steaming cup of coffee.
You'd think that after almost a month of this routine that I might be used to it again. The truth is that I'm not. I am not a morning person, so I don't know that I'll ever really be used to it. But this is our routine.
Brayden is no stranger to school, being in the 2nd grade, however, it still baffles me how independent he's grown in those short years. He's off learning and exploring the world on his own. He's making new friends, playing new games, and experiencing the world through the pages of text books and stories. It amazes me.
Spread your wings and fly kid, you're only 7 once.
