Yep, that's me with my totally awesome braided hair. And yep, that's a baby faced Mike, sporting a wallet chain with his tuxedo and standing a solid 2 inches below me thanks to my amazing glittery platform shoes that I just had to wear (which left a trail of sparkles everywhere I went by the way).
And to think, this was only 9 years ago in 2001.
That was the year that I got my first ever tax return after working all year at my very first job as the Burger King Clown (haha, yeah, trust me ... I know). I spent every dime of it on that dress, which I still have hanging in my closet somewhere.... wayyyyy in the back.
I bought my jewelry for the dance in Chinatown in New York City when I went on our schools Art Club trip. I quite literally haggled with folks for that lovely faux diamond necklace and earring set. Yeah, I am that type of classy.
Oh prom, how I miss dancing to your cheesy music and spending half of the time there taking random posed pictures with my friends.
I do wish that I had some reason today to buy a fancy dress and make Mike rent a tuxedo, but seeing as we're already married, that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.
For now I'll just have to settle for re-living that day ... bad hair and all.

Oh I love! This is the perfect flashback! My prom picture looks about the same, it's so funny how all the girls mature so much faster than the boys so we all look like we are "Mrs. Robbinson" next to our dates! Great flashback!

fun!!! i always had to have high heeled, chunky prom shoes... although i never had any with a glitter trail! i love seeing old prom pics!
There's got to be a good reason to get dressed up like that again. There should be married people proms, or something like that.
