Being Still

Hail Storm - 04/25/10

I can't seem to be still when the storms of life come upon me. It doesn't matter if the storms are gentle as they pass through or lingering and growing in intensity. It doesn't matter if the storms carry marble sized hail or sweet raindrops falling straight from the heavens.

I have a tendency to fight the rhythm of life. I try and try to pull it taut and to keep it smooth but really I know better by now. Life has wrinkles and snags. So often I get caught in the fog that I end up gasping for air through it all and struggling against the natural tempo. Today I'm choosing to place one foot in front of the other and let the Lord be my guide.

"Be still and know that I am God."
- Psalm 46:10

What an honest post! It's crazy how I feel the same way as you, wanting to keep everything safe and snug. I love this....and I really needed to hear it today too:)
