Life's Blessings

I hate to admit it, but I'm one of those people who lose sight of their blessings. And I do it often.

I've always been a glass half empty kind of girl, never getting my hopes up over things and never trying to find any sort of silver lining. It's just who I am, it's ingrained in me. I'm a realist. Because of that I often overlook some of life's simple joys that are staring me right in the face.

The way the morning sun hits the pavement and explodes into a billion sparkles.
The simple joy of two brothers getting along and laughter floating down the halls of our home.
Lazy afternoon naps in an unmade bed.
Puddles of rain that cast rainbows across the walkway in front of our house.
Cuddling up beside the one you love for a peaceful nights slumber.

These are the things that become normal when in fact they are anything but. They are extraordinary. They are amazing. Today, rather than overlook my blessings, I'm making an effort to recognize and love them. Won't you do the same?

Funny my hubby is a lot like you in that respect, which is why we probably got paired up. I'm the forever optimist, which means I get disappointed a lot, but after thirty...cough, cough...something years, it hasn't managed to stop me from seeing the potential in everything.

Beautiful picture and a great reminder to see the beauty that's right in front of you :)

Losing sight of the little blessings in the everyday things has always been far to easy for me. Thanks for the reminder to stop and smell the roses. I needed to hear this-this week.

A new follower. :)
