Lazy Sunday

Sundays are the days I am making a concerted effort to slow down. With Monday morning looming before me, I want to squeeze every last bit of sweet weekend from my Sunday. Having two rambunctious little boys running the roost around here makes it much more challenging to slow things down and soak in the delicious weekend. All too often, Monday morning arrives, and I feel that the weekend flashed before me so quickly that I couldn’t even tell you what I did.

I am making a promise to myself to keep Sundays sacred. By that, I just mean that I don’t want to book every moment of the day with responsibility and tasks that need completed. I want to leave it open to revel in the mundane. I don’t stay on a set schedule. I'm going to take some time to prepare a special meal, maybe even invite friends over. It’s sunny? Well then we'll spend the day running around outside and soaking in the fresh mountain air or make a fire for a evening marshmallow roast. It’s raining? Stay inside and work on a sewing project and watch cartoons and lounge around. I call it Lazy Sunday. And perhaps with a little rest and relaxation and the act of taking things as they come today, I'll be ready to face Monday.

Sigh:)
That's how Sundays sometimes are for us. Though, we don't have little ones anymore unless you count a 10 yr old. :)
