Two Babies . One Swing

Sometimes I miss my old house. Like a lot. Where we are is amazing, and we have so much more room to spread out and stretch our legs now, but sometimes I still day dream about the old tiny house. It was small, but happy, and it was also the first roof that our complete family slept under. Oh, and the best part about it ... it was only about 30 yards away from the playground. Not just any old playground, but to two small little boys, it was the Mecca of all playgrounds.

After Brayden would get home from school in the late Spring afternoons we would usually walk down to the park to run off some energy and get our fill of vitamin D while waiting for Daddy to get home from work. Friends were made, games were played, and smiles were shared.

Generally when we got within the park grounds Brayden would run right off and join in with his friends, who just like us, made the playground part of their afternoon ritual. Gage, who was just a baby, would usually chill out with me and take in the sights and the sounds of the children at play. Even though he couldn't necessarily get down and run with the other kids, their delight was infectious and he was content to just be part of the mix.

One afternoon, a very good friend of mine and her son, who is exactly 10 days younger than Gage, came along with us on our daily adventure. Brayden, like always, ran off and climbed to the top of the monkey bars, disappearing inside the tubes and tunnels of the playground. Left with us were two chunky little babies, both wanting a piece of the action.

Being the genius mothers that we are, my friend and I came up with the amazing plan of Two Babies, One Swing. And boy oh boy (pun intended) did they love it. Together they happily swung the afternoon away, laughing the entire time.

That is co classic! I love how they both fit in there...and how they both have looks on their faces like "Wha???? Did I grow a baby on my back?".

I know what you mean about having a playground that close though. Yeah, OK, ours is about a quarter mile from home, but having it just about in your backyard or IN your backyard is so much more...convenient!

I love tiny houses. Someday I hope to have a tiny 2 bedroom bungalow...I'm dreaming of simplicity, nothing in the house but laughter : )

That's a great idea!! So cute too. Me and my husband's first house we rented was so so small. We knew we couldn't stay there when we had a child and were also happy to buy a house that was bigger, but of course there are sweet memories in that little house too. :)

Oh I recently saw somebody with similar pictures (great minds think alike, you two are some clever mama's), and I thought "OH! Charlie needs a friend!!", haha.

I loved the way you wrote out this story. So accurate and clear your words were, the perfect description of a day at the park.
