A Bit of This and That on a Sunny Weekend

This past weekend was a busy one. After a day or two of coldness and rain, the sun finally broke free of the clouds in our neck of the woods, making Brayden's first official baseball game a wonderful one. While B warmed up with his team Gage and I played on the nearby playground, the one that used to be just down the road from our old house. Living out in the middle of nowhere is amazing, but being literally steps away from the playground is something that the kids miss.

Brayden's team, unfortunately lost 10-4, but he did score the last run of the game. Unfortunately after an afternoon full of running around through the fresh air, Gage was passed out and missed it.

On Sunday we added two new additions to our family, Luke and Leia (keeping with the Star Wars named pets theme) our new baby ducklings. They peep and scurry around the house when they are left to roam and the boys (and mom too) are quite enamoured with them. They'll only be in the house for about a month and then we'll move them out back to our lake once they get their adult feathers. I must say though, we've been living on this farm for about 8 months now, and this is probably the first time that I've felt as though I'm embracing the country lifestyle wholeheartedly. I suppose their just weren't enough animals around here. Next year I think it's going to be chickens.

Hope your weekend was a sunny one as well.
