Zzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm tired.
I'm talking all out, falling over myself sleepy tired.
And I'm on my last leg.
Gage doesn't sleep, well that is, something he gets from his insomniac momma.

I don't really sleep, often getting only a handful of hours of slumber a night, a side effect of an anxiety issue I deal with (and I refuse to take sleeping pills for fear I won't be able to wake up should something happen). So when I do finally pass out, because that's what I do, pass out after tossing and turning in bed and thinking all sorts of ridiculous thoughts, I pass out hard.

5 out of the 7 days in a week Gage usually wakes up right after I've fallen asleep and ends up in the bed with me.
2 out of the 7 days in a week Brayden usually joins him.

Today my eyelids are drooping over my bowling ball heavy eyes and my head is swirling with a sickening dizzy I need sleep right this very second feeling.
Mike gets up and goes to work long before the sun rises, so unfortunately the husband is of no help to me, outside of letting me catch an afternoon nap, if he's not working at his second job that is.

If my kids do not sleep tonight ...
I AM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND
If Gage does not stay in his bed ...
If Brayden wakes up in the hullabaloo and follows his brother ...
If I have to witness the sun rise first hand ...
I AM GOING TO FREAK OUT ...
and turn into crazy sleep depraved psycho mother!!

So mommas .... how do your kids to stay in their beds? I need your wisdom here, for sanity's sake!
Please! Don't make me beg!!!

hugs! My son was a terrible sleeper. He always ended up in our bed. The only thing that worked for us (to get him out of our bed) was bribing him with a toy. Actually my mom bribed him. He had to stay in his own bed for a month. After he got it he ended up back in our bed and I took the toy away for a couple days. It seemed to click after that.

I hope you get some sleep soon.

i am NOT a good sleeper... always been bad.
i am a walking lack of sleep gal with MAJOR insomnia issues. i HAVE taken Ambien before twice... i don't take it though... because i would basically need it every night... being the i am "not a medicine taker". :)

and on the kiddo thing... my hubby is gone four nights a week... my kids end up in bed with me!
i know! i hear ALL the time i shouldn't do it... but i do.

it is sooo tough... you MUST get some rest.
bless our heart!
hang in there! i pray you get a RESTFUL night!

I always feel guilty when I hear that people have sleeping problems :( I sleep like the dead...and at the drop of a pin. I mean this...if I could bottle it and share it...I would! Dom is an insomniac too...so I feel really bad when he can't sleep and I pass out.

As for the kids coming in our room...Merrick has a gate on his door so he can't just get up and walk around. If we wakes up in the middle of the night calling for me, I usually just go to see what's up, then put him back to bed right away. Amelia can come into our room...and if she does, I do the same thing...I just march her back to her room and tell her she needs to close her eyes until it's daytime. A couple of times lately I've found her sleeping on the chair just outside our room...or a couple of times in our room on the dog's bed! When we find her...we put her to bed and the next day tell her that she needs to sleep in her own bed, even if she wakes up. Since then, we haven't had any issues.

Also...I've tried to get to the bottom of why either of them wake up. We figured out Merrick was getting afraid of the dark, so we got him a nightlight. We did the same for Amelia...and we got her a flashlight and told her if she gets scared she can turn it on. I've found her asleep in the morning with it on...so I know she's using it when she gets scared.

I don't know if any of that is helpful...but I hope it is :)
