A Dolls House

Awhile ago, in a fit of "I've always wanted to do this" my mom went out and spent a few hundred dollars on an unbuilt dollhouse, along with wallpapers, paint, brushes, and everything else that she would need to construct it, minus the furniture.

She has since hammered the house together... and that's it. Sometimes life happens and the plans you make to do something never get done. Not to mention that I have three teenage brothers still at home that take up alot of her time. And the poor house has sat, lonely and unfinished for a few years now.

Yesterday I finally convinced my mom to hand over the reigns of the dollhouse so that it could be loved and she agreed with a "you're more into that kinda crafty shit than I am anyways" (lol, three little brothers have turned my mom into a bit of a tomboy)

So I have a new project now. Its still pretty buried under the things that the years have brought with it, so I don't have a picture to share yet, but believe me, I'm on my dads tail to unbury it and bring it over to me :)

So here's a bit of dollhouse inspiration for today ♥

1. Work table, 2. Kitchen - full view, 3. My dollhouse, 4. ...what seems to be the beginning of a dollhouse..., 5. "Fairfield" Dollhouse Kit, 6. Miniature food for Dollhouse - Cookie Preparation Board!, 7. Re-Ment Contest Entry, 8. Sweet Lil' Dollhouse, 9. kitchen

I always wanted a dollhouse when I was younger, but never got one. The closest I got was the Barbie Dream House. My dad made a TON of accessories for it...like a huge closet for all of her clothes with a bar for all those little hangers and a drawer for all of her accessories. Once I have kids, I'm sure they'll have the bestest dollhouse ever as I'll have to live vicariously through them.

Gorgeous, dreamy pix...

Oooh, I'm not gonna lie... I'm jealous. I had a doll house when I was little - A gorgeous Victorian mansion. But it never made it past the nailed together raw wood stage. So sad. I ended up building fairy villages all over the backyard and that is what I played with instead.

Okay, there is a book you have to get, being the crafty lady that you are... let me see if I can find the link and I'll send it to you. I bought it about 15 years ago, so hopefully its still around!! Great book about making your own furniture and people and stuff, and everything is super cute and clever.
