Ok, so my metaphor isn't exactly head on, but that's a bit how I feel today. I, as I live and breathe, am an etsy teams failure. Yes folks, its true. I have been in, and also kicked out of, not one, but 3 etsy teams for non-participation. I tried to use them as a tool to gain some exposure, meet new people and make friends, and just have another online etsy related outlet, but the truth is I just couldn't keep up. With 2 children, I just didn't have the time to participate in etsy team, although I think that they, and the idea of them are both absolutely wonderful.
So where does that leave me? Now that Brayden is in school and I finally have a twinge of free time on my hands, I was thinking about re-joining an etsy team. But obviously I need one that's flexible on participation. So any suggestions for an Etsy Teams Drop Out?

I can't imagine being kicked out of an etsy team! It's so hard to keep up with everything! I can totally sympathize. I haven't been asked to leave my team yet, but who knows? I could be on the fringe! :0
Maybe there needs to be a Do It When You Can Etsy Street Team. Or Doing My Best Etsy Street Team! Good luck~your jewelry it beautiful and so are your little ones!
Poop on those meanie teams. The Arkansas Etsy team has some guidelines (like, keep the Yahoo Group page crafting related and keep your politics to yourself) but we haven't kicked anyone out for non-participation... or for any reason. I'm sure you'll find a street team. I don't have a recommendation, but one is out there.
I have a feeling I'll get bumped out of my only streetteam for nonparticipation but the honest reason is because I was super gungho about it in the beginning, but after 3 weeks of "oh, we're going to merge with another team OOPS THERE'S BUGS OMG" I lost my patience. And the team forum is slower than molasses for me and I'm too busy to wait 1/2 hour to find 5 topics to post in.
We should form the Etsy Dropouts!
Yep, I am going to be one of those drop outs soon too:) Just can't seem to find the time.
PS...if you're Frenchie, I'm Rizzo! lol (and I have the same birthday as Stockard Channing :D) Saw your comment on my blog...thanks! Hope you do the project too :D
You could join the etsy ACEO team... LOL... I've been a member for forever and hardly ever do anything with them, except tag my aceos as such, and post on their blog every now and then.
I don't think they are an overly active group anyways... just a way to network with other ACEO artists.
Convo me if you want more info.
♥
P.S. I should be on the list of drop outs as well hun. No worries. It's all about how you choose to spend your time.
;)
*Nervously chortles at the thought of being kicked out* I mean well, really i do, but as a homeschooling, 2 shop and another indie business owner and mother of two-I am already quite the team-player. I try...but, meh...I try! No worries, perhaps you can start a slackers team-I got an idea for a VP...
I was kicked out of Etsybaby. LOL, oh well. I promoed my butt off and got zero exposure from them... so I didn't care.
I am a die-hard member of the Fabulous Artistic Moms (FAM) and love love love all the awesome moms included. It is the most lax team on the planet and people usually join just to chat with each other about the craziness of life, kids and crafting.
When we moved to Abilene, I didn't even feel like I left any of my friends behind, because of my street team. I had 100% support from everyone. It was nice :)
I'm on one (or is it two?) Etsy teams, and haven't really done much (recently anyway). Luckily, neither is all too worried about participation (I think...). No worries though, may be there will a team that's only for dropouts (hey, you could head that one!).
I'm an etsy tream dropout too. I snuck out of EtsyGreetings quietly, and I think trashion probably had a vote as to worst team player, and theres no way I could have not won.
Boooo. I just don't have the time, or the patience to keep up with all of the 9 billion team emails.
