Gage was much more interested in scooping, and then flinging across the kitchen, the guts of the pumpkin. He absolutely refused to stick his hand inside of his pumpkin, but when the goo was in the bowl - it was game on!
... until he abandoned our family pumpkin carve-fest for a Thomas the Tank Engine book that is, making sure to smear lots and lots of orange strings all over the pages in the process.
That handsome pumpkin carving fool, finishing Gage's now forgotten about project, is my wonderful husband. He looks thrilled because he knows that I'm the one who will end up bathing the kiddos and cleaning up the horrific, but so worth it, mess.
Brayden in deep, tongue sticking out, concentration mode as he saws his pumpkin up, carving out the face that he drew on it all by himself. That would be my fat head in the corner and chunky hands holding it steady.
Brayden on the front porch and the fruits... err... vegetables of our labor

Oh, wow. I was missing the carve-fests from when my kids were little until I read about yours. I'd forgotten about the scrub-and-mop-fest that follows. And, hey...we called them "pumpkin guts," too~
OOMG...snow eek! Yep and I live in Buffalo, no snow here.
Love the pumpkins...turned out fantastic! Your kids are adorable!
We're going to have our own pumpkin-guts-fest tonight. Or tomorrow. Whenever we get the nerve.
Normally I love love love snow (probably because we see so little of it here), but snow and pumpkins at the same time - now that's just WRONG.
I love that smell of the pumpkin once the carving begins, brings back all sorts of good memories.
Wow! Really. Snow before Halloween. I don't think we've ever had anything like that here in Maryland nor would I EVER want it!
Your pumpkins turned out really cute, and it looks like your boys had a great time carving. :)
I talked to my sister in Indiana yesterday, and she said they got snow there too. Crazy! I think it was like 75 degrees here today, haha.
LOL, until reading this, I completely forgot about the carving pumpkin part of Halloween. Good thing my kids are too young to remind me! I only just bought the stuff to make their costumes last night, and Halloween is tomorrow! Glad you are on the ball, when I'm not! :D
I just tagged you over on my blog. You're it!
Oh my gosh!!! I would do anything for snow!!! Luuuuucky!! Summer is still hanging out here. 80 degrees yesterday :( Frown frown frown.
