This morning I woke up with a backbone. I love what I do, and love doing it. So I'm going to take value in my work and take a giant leap of faith - so yes folks, my prices have increased a bit. If you follow my shop at all you know that they fluctuate alot, but I think I'm going to let them be for awhile.
I'm not going to measure my success in sales anymore, but rather in the smiles and the happy hours I spend doing what I love. ♥

I think we're all guilty of that. Searching similar items and comparing our work and prices to that of others. Good for you for raising your prices. You deserve it.
Amen, sister!!! Just because you enjoy what you do doesn't mean you should undersell yourself. I think this is something that women in particular have a hard time with. Good for you for standing up for yourself! Let's hear it for backbones!!
Good for you! It's tempting to "undercut" the competition, but it's not as if we're all selling the same big-brand manufactured item. Even on similar items, they are different; handmade items from different people are entirely different items, however similar they may seem.
I completely agree! I know it's hard at first to put a dollar amount on what we do, but in time we figure it out.
You go girl! I need to raise my prices a bit too... *sigh*
I did a few months ago, but then as sales slowed, I quietly lowered them again. And now I sit and see that neither higher prices nor lower ones really seemed to make a difference in the frequency of my sales.
And, I've also been trying to raise the value of my items, my materials, my style, etc... as i've grown... so the pricing thing goes hand in hand doesn't it?
;)
Thanks for the kick. I'm off to go do some tweaking...
